Semaglutide - A Game Changing Weight-Loss Medication Explained With Dr. David Yablonsky
Semaglutide has recently been proven to induce significant weight loss in patients with obesity that is sustained for as long as the drug is given. Much attention has been given recently to Semaglutide in both scientific circles and in the media because of a landmark article in the New England Journal of Medicine addressing the impact of this medication in a large clinical trial. Side effect profiles of the weight loss medication on the market? How much weight are patients losing on Semaglutide? How much does the drug cost? Commercial vs compounding Tirzepatide a competitor and how is it performing in clinical trials? How the gut-brain signals, and the concept of a microbiome–gut–brain axis. Wrongfully Incarcerated for 23 years with Ricky Kidd
Can you imagine going to prison for 23 years for a crime you didn’t commit? Well, that is the real-life story of today’s guest, Mr. Ricky Kidd. Ricky was arrested in 1996 for the shooting deaths of George Bryant and Oscar Bridges in Kansas City, MO. He was arrested and convicted despite the fact he had an alibi at the time of the crime. His public defender never presented his alibi at trial. No physical evidence linked him to the crime. The prosecutor has been accused of misconduct in several other cases and five of the convictions she helped secure have been overturned. Ricky was exonerated on his last appeal with the help of the Missouri Innocence Project. Ricky is now a motivational public speaker, author, and playwright. His sole post-exoneration focus has been to educate and inspire millions of people about resilience in the face of their challenges. Ricky also has advocated for the wrongfully convicted all over the country and has even trained prosecutors on how to avoid wrongful convictions as a criminal justice consultant. Because of this, many around the nation continue to be captivated by Kidd’s story of true Resilience. The intensity of the public’s focus on Kidd’s extraordinarily and compelling story has served as fuel for him to continue to share, educate and inspire. Micronutrient Testing - Test, Don't Guess Approach For Personalized And Targeted Supplementation.
On today’s podcast I have Nicole Herms, a chemist and technical researcher for SpectraCell Laboratories. SpectraCell Laboratories has a "test, don’t guess" motto when it comes to supplementing your micronutrients. Their Micronutrient test looks inside your cells and identifies deficiencies for 35 vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and metabolites. Micronutrients are the metabolic workhorses in our bodies that drive every chemical reaction in every cell. The Micronutrient Test reveals exactly what you are deficient in and allows doctors to develop a personalized supplementation regimen versus blindly supplementing someone. Correlating micronutrient deficiencies not only slows aging and degenerative disease progression, it can also prevent as well as repair cellular dysfunction, and by extension, disease. Nichole Herms is an avid proponent of functional nutritional testing since she began working at SpectraCell Laboratories in 2004. In the years since, she has developed training materials for practitioners who wish to integrate functional nutritional diagnostics into their practice, with special emphasis on the role of micronutrient deficiencies in various diseases. With a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a masters in business, she understands both the scientific and practical aspects of lab testing in today’s shifting paradigm of healthcare.
